Rolodex

Isn't this awesome?! We made this at our team meeting in Minneapolis. We just took a regular Rolodex and jazzed it up with some Close To My Heart supplies. I used the new Grace paper pack (this is my favorite paper!!!), an alphabet stamp set and a stickease from the Grace pack. I love the way this turned out. You can use the Rolodex for phone numbers or for birthday/anniversary information. I may do this as a workshop soon ~~ let me know if you're interested in attending.

Double Page Layouts

Here are two double page layouts I made in Minnesota. On the pages with the Cubs pictures on them, I used Close To My Hearts new Sweet Home paper ~ I love the colors of this paper pack! We also used the Dimensional Elements On Target pack. We cut the chipboard circles and placed them on both pages so they lined up and made a complete circle when both pages are together. Love the way this turned out!!! The next two pages used our Twitterpated paper pack. This is pretty fall paper. These are the pages I sewed on. I also used a bunch of our New Basic Craft Buttons. I love buttons!!!! They are easy to use and can really "jazz" up a page.

My Table

This was my table at the luncheon I did on Saturday. I made some pre made 12X12 layouts ~ geared them towards sports and the high school colors, I made the picture frames, little notepads, and mini albums. The whole experience was nice and I met some really nice people.

Football Layouts

Saturday, August 1st, I am going to be selling scrapbook layouts and other scrapbooking items at Highland High School. The football mom's club is doing a Kickstart Luncheon to start off the school year. These are just four of the layouts that I have finished. I have used Close To My Hearts Game On paper pack and stickease. I have also stamped, used brads and distressed. As I finish more things, I will try to post them.

Journaling Examples

Here are a couple examples of some of my journaling. In the school pictures, I just put important information about Tyler's first grade year: his teacher's name, principal, best friends, etc. On the Porter County Fair page, I wrote a little bit about the fun day the boys had and some of the activities they did. So when I journal, I don't journal a lot, I just put what I feel is the most important information or what best describes that event. But remember, how and if you journal is all up to you. I just wanted to share with you how I do it. **Note: You can click on each picture to get an enlarged version of the image.**

Teacher's Card/Bookmark

Well, today's the last day of school so we had to get Tyler's teachers gifts to let them know we really had a great year!!! I made his wonderful teacher a card that was really fun to make. I used Close To My Hearts Paper Garden paper pack. I used cranberry embossing powder and heat embossed a flower from the Delight in Everything stamp pack on vellum paper. I cut it out and added a button to the center of the flower. Added a sticker from the Paper Gardens My Stickease pack and then some ribbon I had on hand. For the great teacher's aid in Tyler's class, we made her a bookmark also using the Paper Garden paper and My Stickease. Tyler wrote a little note on the back so she will always remember him.

End of Kindergarten Pictures

This is Tyler's last day of kindergarten last year. The kids sang songs, received awards and had snacks. I used Close To My Heart's Cherish book for the layout. I found this school paper pack at Joann's ~ has great colors in it.

Anniversary Card

Here is a card I made for my brother in law and his wife for their one year anniversary. I used CTMH's That's Amore paper (it's one of my favorites!!!) and I got the idea for the card layout using CTMH's Originals book. Originals is a book that has many card designs in it ~ it tells you how to cut the paper, what size card, and it shows different ideas for the same type of card ~ there's so much in this book ~ and it's sooo easy to use! I embellished using buttons tied with chocolate waxy flax (another one of my favorite products!) and I stamped a quote on the outside of the card from the Treasure Life stamp set. The quote on the inside of the card, came from the Celebrate Life stamp set by Close To My Heart.

Stardust layout

This is a layout that I did using Close To My Hearts Stardust paper pack and stickease. I also got the idea of this layout from CTMH's Cherish book. The Cherish book is wonderful! It has 50 two page layout ideas! And the book is so easy to follow!!! The Stardust paper pack is great for boys! It has Moonstruck Blue and Topiary Green! I put pictures from when we went to the Porter Co. Fair on here. I left my blank space for journaling ~ which I will get to doing this weekend when I crop. I also did a little ink distressing and sanding. I thought the pages turned out pretty good.

Cricut Again!!!

I have been going crazy with my Cricut! Not only did I use the Cricut to accent my scrapbook area, I used it to write the word "Family" and put it in the hallway with all our pictures. I also used it to jazz up Tyler's toy room. When Tyler has his cousins over to play, they like to play school and have art class ~ so I made them an "Art Wall"; somewhere where they could hang up their pictures when they are done being artists! I don't want to over do it, I need to be careful!! Otherwise every room in my house will be CRICUTIZED!!!!!

This is a flip flop accordion album that I made. I am going to put pictures of Tyler playing in the snow in it. I used the Aspen paper pack from Close To My Heart and accented with some stickers and embellishments I had on hand. These flip flop accordion albums are so easy to make and they make great gifts!

Step 2 ~ adding pictures!

Last September I added the paper and some embellishments to this My Creations Album and I was undecided about what pictures to put on it. But then going through some photos, I decided to use Kevin's 17th birthday pictures. We went out to dinner with him, his girlfriend and my in-laws and had a good time. We took so many pictures that I thought this would be the perfect little album to put them in!

Snow!!!!!

Snow! Snow! Snow! Here's a layout I did at the Hobart crop. I scrapbooked pictures of my son playing out in the snow. Tyler got so tired of being in the house, that I let him go out for a few MINUTES just to let off some steam! This has been one of the coldest winters! I actually took a picture of the actual temperature ~ -11.5 degrees ~ that's crazy!!!! (Tyler was not outside on this particular negative day! He was outside when it was above freezing!! I just put the temp. picture on there to show how cold of a winter it was!) Anyhow, when I decided to crop these pictures, I used the Aspen paper pack from Close To My Heart! The paper has such pretty shades of blue! It's perfect for scrapbooking all your snow pictures!!!!

Crazy Tyler Layout

This is another one of the double page layouts I did over the weekend. Tyler took a bunch of pictures of himself and I thought it would be fun to crop them! I used the new Stardust paper pack from Close To My Heart . I used pop dots on the space ship and the arrow to make them "step" out of the page. The colors are Honey (yellow), Moonstruck (blue), Topiary (green) and Bamboo. These are the perfect sheets of paper for boys.

Hobart Crop!

WOW!!! We had a lot of fun! We scrapbooked ALL day, we had really good food, we played games, won door prizes and met some really fun and wild scrapbook ladies!! My niece Amy (gray sweatshirt) won the design your name tag game and I won the design a Valentine's bag game! (Big flowers win all the time ~ right girls! LOL!!!) My sister Joanie and I took a little break from scrappin to smile for the camera. And I took a picture of all the girls hard at work! We really did have a good time ~ I'm glad we went ~ it was well worth it!

PS ~ You know you can click on any picture and it will enlarge it ~ just in case you wanted to see something in more detail!

Kevin & Morgan ~ That's Amore!

This is a little Valentine's present for my sons girlfriend. They've been dating for a few years and when I saw this My Creations Cube that Close To My Heart sells, I thought it would make a cute gift for her. I used the That's Amore paper and accented with some flowers, stamping and glitter to make the pictures pop!

I'm so excited and I know I'm going to be posting as regularly as I can! I have two crops lined up that I am going to attend. Usually I am the one hosting a crop, but this time I am the one who gets to sit and participate! First, I am going to an all day crop on Feb. 7! We start at 10AM and don't finish til 10PM!!!! This is local, but it's gonna be so much fun! And in March I am going away for a Scrapbook Weekend with the girls! We are going back to The Loft! I am going to have fun with "my sisters" and my goal is to become current on my youngest son's album! Wish me luck!

January 2009 Club

These are the layouts we are doing at Club this month. For the Homecoming pictures, I used CTMH's Paper Garden paper. I used the muted background paper and added color with the embellishments. The Christmas pages were done with CTMH's B&T paper. I like how it turned out.

Memory Jar

My sister Tracie had a really cool idea ~ to make my parents a Memory Jar for Christmas. It was actually pretty fun to do. My brothers, sisters and nieces and nephews all wrote down memories from our childhood to present ~ we had to come up with 365! I decorated a jar with CTMH paper called Paper Garden, and added some embellishments. I thought the jar turned out really nice and now my parents can pull one memory out of the jar every day this year and recall all the good times we had!
